LANDSCAPE AND RESTORATION STUDIO | 2024-2025

Parco del Colle Oppio, Rome

A restoration-oriented landscape proposal focused on re-establishing visual, ecological, and spatial coherence within the park and its surroundings. The analysis highlights the contrast between the original minimalist design characterized by open views, structured planting, and clear circulation and the current condition of overgrown vegetation, obstructed sightlines, and reduced functionality. The strategy addresses erosion and visual disconnection through the reorganization of vegetation layers, replacement of unsuitable species, and restoration of key views, particularly toward the Colosseum. Interventions include reshaping paths, introducing groundcovers for stabilization, and integrating seating into slopes to reactivate underused areas. The project aims to recover ecological integrity, enhance microclimatic performance, and re-establish the park as a legible, accessible, and cohesive urban landscape.
